redthedragonI'm putting a new tag into play: "capstone jank"
This is because I get to work on a capstone project for this semester! Among other things, of course. Wouldn't be college without a metric assload of courses, naturally. But one of the many fuckshits I get to do is work on a capstone project.
I've been chronicling some of those over on tumblr sideblog [Bad username or unknown identity: fucking-it-catastrophic-style], albeit exceptionally haphazardly because i was in brainstorming-and-braindump vibe collection for until just very recently and all my more structured notes went into a specific document. I am also (because how could I not) going to start writing about it here too. Under that tag. Specifically.
Okay so the project is a gamedev project - sort of. I'm going to do a semi-chronological text narrative stuck in a 3D point and click environment. For. For fun, really, it's because it will be fun. There will also be film installments.
I was going to talk about the plot but I had to go to class and now I have a headache, so I'll save that for later.
I'm also embarking on another ill-advised quest to clean up my tags. I don't remember what a lot of them refer to (what's the difference between 'red rambles' and 'personal'? Fucked if I know) so I hope to clean some of that out. This is nakedly an excuse to procrastinate on the hard stuff for my various projects.
I'd also like to change how my tags are displayed on my theme - at the moment they are alphabetical, but I'd rather see them sorted by descending amount.
I also think I'm going to go back from 'whining' to 'salt' because frankly I like the imagery of salting the fields way better than I do whining. It's obviously nakedly whining rather than salt but I like it better. You know how it is.
Expect to see some changes there, but probably not a lot because there's a holding pattern in this neighborhood for a reason.
Assorted random tidbits:
- They raised the prices on like literally all the cheap groceries I used to subsist off of so now I'm experimenting my way through the slim inexpensive GF pickings at my local grocery store. This is very annoying so I keep being both hungry and bitchy about it. I also don't have time to do any commissions this semester so I can't pad my grocery budget out the normal way. I'll probably just go back to selling nudes about it, but we'll see.
- I won't be graduating by the end of the spring so to get my final [checks notes] like 9 credits. not even a full courseload. ugh. in, I'm going to look at studying abroad! Not sure how serious that will work out though because the countries I want to study in are not offered through my school and I think I need to apply by like Feb 15, so I'll probably have fully missed the boat on that by the time I get to talk to my advisor.
- College is killing me.
- I have a new fandom! Alan Wake 2 has eaten my brain. Very exciting.
- Every Tuesday and Thursday I need to take a class (required to graduate!) in a classroom that gives me a migraine. So around 8-9 UTC ( 15-16 EST) on basically every Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the year I'm going to be exceptionally grouchy, head-empty, and prone to complaining. I can't imagine this will affect me on Dreamwidth much but like... eh, if you see me you might be wondering what's up, i probably have a migraine. I'm typing this while staring at the floor because my head hurts. You know how it is.
- I'm making strawberry wine! It's. Um. I put it together yesterday and it's already BOOZEY. I may have overdone the yeast again.
