I suppose if I'm going to keep bumping headfirst into the tumblr post limit, and I don't want to spend any more time on Twitter than is absolutely necessary, I can come waste my time on here instead. Nice to see you guys! How's the dreamwidth been in my absence?

I haven't been on here in so long that I don't think I've mentioned it yet, but I've been learning 3D modeling. Blender has a new release as of today, which includes a GEOMETRY NODE EDITOR!!!! I am so excited about this geometry node editor it's not even funny.
Shame it keeps quitting every time I touch it. You win some, you lose some. I'm going to play around with it later and see if I can't figure out how to make it stop doing that so I can do weird things with nodes some more.

AAHAHAHAA okay so I maybe? got Blender to stop quitting, and now it's full-speed-ahead on my current project, to make eyeballs appear on one of my characters' face sculpts based off of an empty object.

I am following a tutorial. It is not going well lmao.

i love blender so, so much. look at this weirdness. i love it

it's not even done! I have to figure out how to make some kind of bulging appear first so the eyes seem to "split out" from his face in a nastier way. More "shapeshifter having an error" than "dude having eyes just appear".

Making him look grumpier'll probably also help with that, but I haven't rigged his face yet. In canon, the eyeball-ripple is what he does when you hit him hard enough he gets his bones crunched into the wrong place and his hindbrain has to go "wait, those features don't go there" and reset, so he won't be looking nearly that calm when I use it next time.
