I've been sitting on Dreamwidth going down my Reading page on a daily basis, but I don't think I've posted anything substantial in quite a while. So first of all, I'd like to Get Shit Done, and secondly, I'd like to Get Shit Done Over Here because i like this website better.
As such, I'm going to start listing off my personal goals on a monthly basis, and then probably do a wrap-up later. My goals are under the cut; you're welcome to snoop, or not. We'll see how it goes.
1. Cut back on the Tumblr usage. I managed to get my Twitter consumption down from multiple hours per day (which was unironically awful for my ability to read without exhaustion headaches) to maybe an hour a day, maximum. I go multiple days a week without going on at all. It's excellent. I've always used Tumblr pretty heavily, but I want to see if I can cut it down to ~3-4 hours per day, on average.
2. Finish my funky dragon arpg site and figure out where that's going to be hosted. I'm leaning toward using Dreamwidth for it, actually.
(If you like art RP games, you can check the site out here. Features include: dragons, completely irrelevant gender, breeding with up to six characters at one time, and the possibility for random mutations of your choice because i said so. who needs lifelike breeding mechanics in their dragon video game group?)
3. Get my vaccine. I've been dragging my feet on it but I need to get the first shot before the end of the month.
(3.5. Find my phone. It got lost somewhere and I need it to get to the vaccine place. I haven't seen it in literally a month and I'm starting to get worried but, like, I also haven't looked terribly hard.)
4. Use the TF Kink Meme for ideas and practice some porn writing skills. Hopefully by the end of next month I'll have one or two new E-rated fics on my ao3.
5. Get to editing WiB. That should take a while, since my methodology for my second draft is to literally rewrite the entire thing, and I'm going to take it at a far easier pace than I did the first one. I fucked my left arm up doing it the way i did and now typing too much aggravates my elbow :(
6. Comment and actually interact more, both here and on Tumblr. I would like to get out of the "mindless consumption" loop of normal social media. This one has always been challenging for me as I like to lurk and show my encouragement by just reblogging every post I find even mildly agreeable, but on Dreamwidth and Discord that doesn't work terribly well and I'm doing my best to migrate my online experience to be over there instead. Can't have a community if no one talks to each other, etc etc, and I have to also talk to people if I want people to talk to me.
7. More toy photography. Self-explanatory. I finally got an Optimus a little while ago, and I also have some really excellent props for Megatron (a squishy pink unicorn my dad gave me that's just the right size to look like a TF plushie, and an Optimus body pillow) and I want to do a short toy-photography comic of some kind of comedy with that
8. Get more masks. Need 'em for college. If you know of places that do cool edgy black or red masks that you like, it'd be neat if you could drop a link in the comments. I currently only have one, and while it's a great mask I don't like... go outside terribly often. I don't want to have to wash my mask on a super regular basis while also juggling School Obligations.
9. Get better at cooking noodles in the microwave. The "put some water and noodles in a mug and microwave it for random lengths of time" trick fucking sucks. Also, see about whether or not my dad will let me steal the poke sauce to take it to college, because if I can make my own food on the weekends my life will be significantly better than if I have to live off beef sticks and tortilla chips half the year again.
10. Practice doing lines with left hand. This has been a goal for a while (I do my lines with vectors, so a tremor won't be an issue, and when I was a kid I was ambidextrous and I want that back) but my elbow has been acting up pretty badly recently so I don't know how much headway I'll make on it. I'm going for lines instead of handwriting because I have trouble holding pencils with my left hand (it cramps) but my tablet pen is big enough that I can hold it relatively easily.
11. Clean up my tags, fix the cut ones and take off the unwanted ones. I keep forgetting to do that but I hate the way my taglist looks.
I may or may not update this with more stuff later.
