The Great Fandom Rickroll went fucking excellent and I am feeling very proud of having become a resident Fandom Funnyman for a minute or two. Truly is there anything better than pissing someone off and then making them laugh when they catch on to the joke?
Also we've only had one person fully take it serious thus far, which is pretty good. (I reached out to them and got them to add a rickroll onto their response, because I didn't want them to be let out.) I'm actually rather proud of the amount of reading-before-commenting going on in my immediate fannish circle, because I expected to hoodwink a lot more people. It's got 79 reblogs (although bout half of those are me, lol) and yet we've only gotten one person to think it was a serious Discourse Post TM.
In conclusion I think we should have more fandom jokes like this, that are like "someone makes a dumbass argument but instead it is a surprise that is not miserable discourse" plot twist things that are easy and fun for everyone watching to get in on.
I wonder if there would be a doable way to reward interaction in easily-added-to game posts like that (ie: format already laid out, joke already clear, all you have to do is add onto it)? I like when everyone comes together for something like that and it's been a very long time since I felt like the attitude on Tumblr was welcoming of it.

A. It’s a joke that can start with what looks like discourse nonsense.
B. People can make up silly fake discourse nonsense.
C. I want to see people fake arguing about how to Starscream proof a house while allowing him to indulge in his natural behaviour of clawing and scheming.

Which wouldn’t be a bad thing imo bc it’s a fun fic. XD

...and got rickrolled in the break room at the library in front of my coworkers. It was beautiful.

Did you see this reblog by @ optimusprmesdisapprovingeyebrows ? It's the only real readmore on the entire post, and it's got a Transformers-fied version of the Eggman Piss Copypasta on it. I laughed so hard I cried when I saw it

Now I'll be giggling over the extended version of this post all day today, too. It truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
