im making a whole knitting... thing!



This is supposed to be the Hemlock Ring blanket, a blanket made from a doily pattern, but whereas the original was done in wool mine is done in very ugly cotton. also i skimped on the middle part. and i am doing this to learn knitting in the round, which is not terribly hard actually but this was a ridiculously ambitious project for a beginner. I'm feeling pretty proud of myself.

I started it all of like 20 hours ago and have not been consistently working on it, and it's about 1 foot in diameter, which is also *very cool*. going much faster than my other stuff, but this is also on size 10 needles and i usually work on size 5s. lol

I'd have put this on tumblr, but i'm in post limit jail until midnight :(

Idk to me that's pretty impressive for two and a half day's work :D are you gonna keep going in orange?

Cotton is quite cool, so I wonder if that would make a good summer blanket.

The yarn ball I'm using is a color change yarn that has yellow, orange, gray and off-white in it, so I'll be using all four of those colors. and then probably any other yarn in a similar weight and texture to it because i am definitely going to run out XD

I'm hoping it will! It's really soft and I need more blankets- I'm accustomed to sleeping with like, four, and making a whole nest, but RN I've got one blanket and it is Not Enough. i need my snugglies lol

It looks really cool! I think cotton is cooler than wool so at least it won’t be too hot in summer.
I like the colours too!

I'm hoping it'll be on the cooler side- it's super soft and i can't wait for it to be finished so I can smoosh it XD
