Also, like, I love when both characters look at each other and go "you're me, but the evil version" and utterly refuse to confront the fact that they are, like, also bad. like when you get tarn and prowl face to face and they both go "wow, that's the evil version of me"

babes ur both evil <3

but like it really does tell you so much about a character? like if you take, like, i don't fucking know. swerve and misfire, whose differences are small but fundamental; if you compare them they're both going to go "huh. weird. you're like the better/nicer version of me" for reasons that are fairly understandable but not the full picture and likewise for prowl and tarn but in reverse. misfire and swerve will be friends; prowl and tarn will try to kill each other. but i feel like the more "normal" version of actually exploring the trope is like... let's see... hm. Hm. I'm having trouble coming up with an appropriate comparison. Maybe .idk fuck it im going with Swindle and Starscream. One of the two of them might decide they're "worse" than the other and the other might decide they're "better", like meeting your evil twin or something; but that's not how i like to play. i like when characters are bad at introspection and always feel either justified or unjustified in some way and then make up reasons to explain it, rather than the other way round.
