SICK of how tumblr talks about "comfort characters" although i wouldnt have ever thought to call my "comfort characters" that without outside interference. what is the word for "i'm sad so i am going to pop this character like a water balloon and then nom on its bones while it writhes in agony", is that comfort character? is that what that is?

See for me things I find comforting in fiction doesn’t mean fluffy fluff and can mean horrible things happening.

So I don’t use the term ‘comfort character’ for the sake of people not realising that sometimes I mean ‘I want them to cannibalism someone and have a good time doing it.’

Oh, yeah, frankly the things I find comforting (even in IRL) are like actively disturbing to some people LOL.
